ARtist statement
Each of my prints reflects a moment along the Great Lakes shoreline, a place that has shaped my life and my work. The shifting light, changing seasons, and constant movement of water continue to inspire me year after year.
As I grew into understanding my freshwater photography as an art form, I also began to ask how these images might contribute to something larger than aesthetics alone. To deepen the impact of my work and broaden my understanding, I’ve begun to partner with organizations and individuals who know these waters well and are dedicated to freshwater in all forms. Their knowledge lives within my art and helps broaden the conversations it invites.
My goal isn’t to tell people what to think. It’s to offer images that invite connection, spark curiosity, and deepen understanding of one of the greatest freshwater systems on our planet. Through collaboration and storytelling, I hope my work creates a moment of reflection and encourages viewers to connect further and consider the small actions that help protect these lakes for the future.
